You’ve Got Green Beer And We’ve Got Green Homes: Just In Time For St. Patrick’s Day!

March 17, 2014

In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day this week, we are all about green. Green homes, that is. Located in Vancouver’s well-appointed west side, our Oak townhomes continue a tradition of excellence in design and construction, but also in sustainability.

All of our homes are engineered to meet the Built Green Gold Standard, which means your home is guaranteed to last with minimal impact on our environment. Built Green Canada certification is a great approach to building green. The integration of the elements of Built Green Canada can help your home work as a system, and in effect, lowers your footprint and cost of living. And who doesn’t love that?

At Oak we have gone above and beyond many of the built green standards. Each of our homes is equipped with a drain water heat recovery pipe. Now what in the world does that actually mean? In basic terms, it is recovering part of the valuable energy from the warm water in your drains, and using it to preheat your incoming cold fresh water. Are you impressed yet? You will be when you hear this: Our homes are also equipped with an air source heat pump. These pumps draw heat from the outside air during the heating season and reject heat outside during the summer cooling season.

But our green coverage doesn’t end there. All of our homes have an EnerGuide rating of 82 and for a brand new home, a rating of 80 or higher is quite excellent. This rating is calculated based on standard operation assumptions so that you can compare the energy performance of one house to another. This shows you exactly how energy efficient and green your new home will be.

Happy St. Patricks Day from Listraor!
