Cherry Trees by Winona Park
April 8, 2020
Along Yukon Street by Winona Park the cherry trees are in their full glory. From early March to late April cherry trees bloom in Vancouver. There are about 50 varieties and a total of about 40,000 cherry trees in Vancouver. The original trees were a gift from Japan to Vancouver. Different varieties bloom at different times. The trees bloom for only about 2 weeks with the staggered blooms lasting for about a month. Their pink and white blossoms are an iconic symbol of springtime.
