Eat Local: Support BC Farms at the Vancouver Markets

The warm weather this week is the perfect excuse to get outside and shop for fresh produce and handcrafted goods at the Vancouver Markets! A great way to show your support for BC Farms is by visiting the many markets around Vancouver, allowing you and your family to become an active part of the local community. This week was the start of the 2014 Summer Season at the Vancouver Markets and we’ve rounded up a list of the best spots to add to your local shopping routine.
Kin’s Farm Market at Oakridge Centre
Open all year round, Kin’s Farm Market is a Canadian owned, specialty produce retailer offering the freshest fruits and vegetables of the season. Conveniently located in Oakridge Centre and just a few minutes from our Oak Townhomes, there’s no excuse not to get your daily dose of veggies.
Yaletown Farmer’s Market May 1 – October 2
Hop on the Canada Line at Oakridge Centre and stop at the Yaletown-Roundhouse station to explore the new Yaletown Farmers Market. The market runs 2pm – 6pm every Thursday.
Kitsilano Farmers Market May 11 – October 19
Just a 13-minute drive from our Oak Townhomes, the Kitsilano Community Centre is the place to be on a Sunday afternoon. The Kitsilano Farmers Market is open every Sunday from 10am – 2pm.
Main Street Station Farmers Market June 4 – October 1
Near the Main Street SkyTrain Station, this Farmers Market only adds to the funky vibe of Vancouver’s Main Street shopping and entertainment district. Catch it Wednesdays from 3pm – 7pm.
Kerrisdale Village Farmers Market June 14 – October 11
You’ll have to wait until June to check out the market outside Kerrisdale Arena, but the sun is sure to be shining as you make your way through the vendors. Running Saturdays from 10am – 2pm, this market is only a 5-minute drive or a 15-minute bus ride from the Oak Townhomes.
